First snow on Twin Peaks.

Twin Lakes, Colorado

A friendly mountain village in the heart of Colorado's high country.

The Twin Lakes Community would like to introduce you to our little village of Twin Lakes, Colorado. Located 21 miles southwest of Leadville and 36 miles east of Aspen, our historic town sits in the shadow of Colorado's highest peak, Mt. Elbert and overlooks the beautiful Twin Lakes. Situated along the "Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway," with Independence Pass, one of the highest paved passes in the state, just up the road; any direction you happen to glance you will find ways to play and an exuberant abundance of natural beauty.

We are a fun loving community and welcome all to our events so please come on by and introduce yourself and enjoy our beautiful mountain town. In the winter the pass is closed and we have the place to ourselves. Visit us then and you'll find the tranquility of the wind through the pines, the magnificence of a night sky - filled with more stars than you can imagine or the incredible solitude of a winter snowshoe walk when the moon is full.
