We wanted to let you know about some great kids that will be in Twin Lakes the night of July 12. The South Carolian to Santa Cruz Bike & Build group will be passing through Twin Lakes after spending 9 days building a home from the ground up in CO Springs.

Bike & Build - Pedaling for Affordable Housing!-- is a program that introduces young adults to the affordable housing cause, engages them in a unique and interesting way creating a prolonged and intimate connection. Over seven seasons, this program has contributed $2,305,345 to housing groups to fund projects planned and executed by young adults.
Dunc, Tom & Kendra are hosting the SC2SC group in the local dance hall the night of July 12th The Twin Lakes sponsors say "We will be making them a spagetti dinner, providing a warm place to sleep and a hot breakfast before they set off again." The Leadville Snow Mobile Club has made a donation to help buy the food but a bit more is needed.
Anyone who wants to donate or come and help please contact Kendra at Black Wolf Lodging. She also needs to know if anyone has connections to a company that could let us use a couple of port a potties for the night??
Ed note: The link above is quite interesting, you can see a roster of the participants in this ride/work group and some of them have blogs where they are tracking their preparation progress. I think it would be fun if various Twin Lakes people left welcoming comments on the blogs too. kld
We get together, bring some project we may be working on and spend time with others from the area. S&B runs in the winter only (after the Pass closes) and gives a chance to catch up with each other and do some of those things that you never seem to have time for otherwise. If you live in the valley, please bring your stitching, mending, recipe sorting, scrap booking or what ever needs a bit of attention and join us.
